(MJP) — Fairbanks, Alaska While a “sit-tight” policy was in effect, a confrontation took place on Wednesday at North Pole High School.
A student allegedly threatened a staff member at 2 p.m., and the North Pole Police Department (NPPD) began investigating the incident. During this time, all North Pole High School students were ordered to stay in the main lobby.
Alysia S. Johnson, a teacher in charge of the front entrance, stated that a man named Keith R. Fons Sr. broke into the school’s breezeway and claimed that his daughter was being held captive inside.
According to the indictment, Johnson had concerns about Fons because of his “extremely erratic, unstable and angry behavior”. He allegedly repeatedly pushed her with his chest, according to her.
Later, when police visited Fons at his home, he denied pushing the teacher. Assault charges of the fourth degree led to his arrest.

According to a statement released by Fons during a campaign that he started on Thursday, he plans to sue the school and the district in addition to posting bail.

The five officers from the NPPD showed up to my house an hour later and took me into custody on charges of fourth-degree assault, citing a teacher’s reported fear for their safety.
A bond was posted for Fons’ release.
