Server Alert Texas Roadhouse Employees Caution Against To-Go Boxes in This Scenario

MJP –

Tip money is more than just a nice perk for servers; it’s essential to their livelihood. Tipping is an unspoken rule in most industries, but not all consumers adhere to it. The best course of action for servers in such a situation is usually to keep smiling and move on.

A Texas Roadhouse employee, however, took to TikTok to show off a sneaky strategy for dealing with guests who don’t leave tips.

Two waiters in the video, uploaded by @roadies457 on TikTok, grab several styrofoam takeout containers before pausing to give the camera the finger. An on-screen caption accompanies the film, reading: “When your table asked for a box [but] you remember they left no tip.”

There are more than 86,700 views for the TikTok, which was released on September 11 and set to the guitar riff of “Judas” by Lady Gaga. Those who choose not to tip their wait staff may not be taking their leftovers home after all, as the pun suggests.

A waiter at Texas Roadhouse appeared to support the practice when they wrote, “I always check first before I give it to them lol.”

Serving customers who do not leave tips in a certain way was alluded to by another poster. The message stated, “Ong that extra bread-to-go can stay up there in the window.”

“When I can’t do this because I ask if they want boxes before giving the check,” a third person shared.

How can servers best deal with customers who do not leave tips?

Reddit recently discussed the same issue. As the title suggests, the Reddit thread asked, “What’s the best way to deal with people who don’t tip?” All the servers agreed that keeping cool is the key to success in this round of discussions.

“Take the L, then the next one will hopefully be better,” one person urged.

This strategy was also shared by another Reddit user. I don’t know what to do with them. Forget about them and go on. They told me that confronting them would only make things worse and that it would have no effect on them.

“Cheques aren’t always left by customers. An extra 20% is not unheard of by some customers. “It equalizes,” a third user pointed out.
