SAN JOSE — Coming soon to a Chick-fil-A
San Jose is home to a proposed restaurant that has finally laid out the eatery’s dimensions and number of seats.
What if the Chick-fil-A proposed San Jose fast food joint would be four miles from Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair, two enormous shopping and dining complexes? The address is 1301 West San Carlos Street.
With 78 seats, the Chick-fil-A would be the talk of San Jose, according to a construction permission petition.
New drawings show that the restaurant would be just over 5,100 square feet in total.
At the intersection of West San Carlos Street and Race Street, the proposed project will take up 1.1 acres of land. According to the new proposal’s graphics, ideas, and blueprints, the eatery would have excellent visibility from both roadways.
Burger King and its drive-through were formerly located on the same land. The building where the Burger King was located was demolished a number of years ago.
Following proposal approval, a surface parking lot and a small commercial building housing several retailers and a taqueria would be demolished.
Including San Jose, Chick-fil-A seems to be actively expanding around the Bay Area.
An airport location for the fast food chain is available at San Jose International Airport.
Concurrently, a southeast San Jose lot near the intersection of Silver Creek Road and East Capitol Expressway was purchased by Chick-fil-A for $4.5 million in October 2023. Nearby, you’ll find a Target shop.

Neither the start date nor the expected opening date of the Chick-fil-A on West San Carlos Street were readily apparent.
In the plan submitted to the city of San Jose, cars would use Race Street as an entrance and exit to the restaurant property. The presence or absence of a drive-through window was unclear.
No information regarding the potential workforce at the Chick-fil-A on West San Carlos Street was provided in the proposal. There is no information available regarding the number of positions at the Chick-fil-A that is currently under development.
It was unclear if Chick-fil-A plans to purchase the property at 1301 West San Carlos.
Santa Clara County property records reveal that the three properties comprising the project land are owned by a trust with Rosemary Zotta as trustee.
