RECENTLY END! Pennsylvania Mall Loses Starbucks in Sudden Closure—Find Out Why

MJP –

The sudden shuttering of a Starbucks at a Pennsylvania mall has shocked fans, according to publications.

Just north of Philadelphia, approximately 65 miles, in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, there was a Starbucks kiosk at the Lehigh Valley Mall. Unfortunately, it has recently closed.

This coffee kiosk, situated on the lower level close to the escalators, was a favored spot for shoppers on weekends.

Why the popular chain left the mall is a mystery to many.

The closure of Starbucks is surprising; there was always a large line on weekends, one shopper noted on Facebook.

Some have speculated that the mall owners may raise rent, while others have pointed out that the Starbucks within Barnes & Noble is now inaccessible unless one exits the mall first.

Some have hypothesized that the mall location’s higher costs compared to the main Starbucks may have played a role in its demise.

According to one user, “The drinks were several dollars more at the mall Starbucks.” Another user said that they prefer to purchase online because of the heavy traffic and avoid going to the mall.

The shutdown has been officially deleted from the mall’s list of locations, but Starbucks has not yet commented on the matter.

Other retailers including Ardene and Rivals Indoor Battlefield have also closed at the Lehigh Valley Mall.

At the tail end of August, competitors declared their closure, claiming they had been outbid for the lease, rather than going out of business.

New stores are opening up shop in the mall as old ones close down.

Among the upcoming additions are MINISO, Spice n Shake, Game Box Arcade, and Golf Galaxy.

Meanwhile, after the CEO announced intentions to shutter as many as 150 stores, customers of Macy’s are understandably worried.
