Analytics developers, data engineers, and software developers are among the many positions that will be impacted by the layoffs.

The NC WARN notice states that no union is representing these workers. Those affected were given sixty days’ notice.

The following statement was issued by Novant Health:

We transferred some DPS services to an external partner as part of a new information technology model for our Digital Products and Services (DPS) team, which was announced in 2023. We are continuing this effort by moving more DPS functions to Deloitte Digital, which will cut our usage of other third parties by over 90%.

We can scale our resources through these reforms, allowing us to continue investing in the health of the communities and people we serve.

As a result of this transition, certain duties will be reorganized within the DPS team, while others will be eliminated. Out of over 40,000 positions in our health system, this move will affect less than 300 team members—less than 0.8%.

Members of our team who are interested in joining our external partners or advancing their careers inside Novant Health may be contacted for interviews.

Along with our gratitude for their contribution to Novant Health and our patients, we are providing resources to other team members to help them through the transition.
