The average price of standard petroleum in states dropped to $2.99 per gallon on Monday, from $3.11 per gallon last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Between last month and now, the average price of gasoline in the state has dropped by about 4 cents.
The Energy Information Administration reports that gas prices in the state have ranged from $2.46 on December 18, 2023, to $3.45 on August 21, 2023, over the past 12 months.

At $3.45 a gallon a year ago, the average gas price in Texas was 13% higher.
With a national average of $3.45 a gallon last week, state prices were 13.2 percent lower.
From last week’s average of $3.48 per gallon, the average national gas price has decreased.
