Notices sent out by the Missouri Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification System indicate that two unexpected businesses will soon be laying off employees.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) mandates that employers with over 100 full-time employees are required to give a 60-day notice before the layoff of 50 or more individuals at a single location.
Notifications of impending layoffs were submitted by two companies to the Missouri Office of Workforce Development this week under the WARN program.
Southern Glazers has announced that on November 1st, 94 employees will be let go from their jobs in St. Charles.
The second firm is Omega Healthcare, which will be reducing its Oak Grove workforce by just two employees on September 30.

The layoff notice for the 183 St. Louis employees was filed by Regency Enterprises Services on August 31.
