The phrase is used often. Texas is the place to be. Yes, I think so too. There are many things that I can think of that are the size of Texas. Starting at the Texas A&M football stadium and ending at the Houston Astrodome. Texas is home to enormous things.
Unfortunately, it also suggests illegal behavior.
I have proof that some of history’s most heinous acts took place in Texas. By the time you finish reading this, you should have no doubts whatsoever. Several of these horrors I can show you around. Graphic and terrifying stories follow. Exercise caution as you move forward.
Here are eight of the most heinous crimes perpetrated in Texas for your perusal.
1. Slain and Tormented Williams, Devontae
In Tarrant County, Lisa Colman was convicted of the heinous murder of Devontae Williams. Upon arriving at the scene of the crime, rescue responders found the lifeless body of a nine-year-old kid, who was only dressed in his diaper and bandages.
The underweight child weighed just 36 pounds, which is half the recommended weight for his age, and a pediatrician discovered nearly 200 wounds on his body. Is that weapon? A pair of golf clubs. The leading causes of death were pneumonia and malnutrition.
2. Crash in Luby’s Cafeteria Causes Gunshots
October 1991 was marked on this day. George Hennard slammed his automobile through the front window at Luby’s eatery in Killeen, Texas.
After that, he started shooting, injuring more than 30 people and killing 23. Texas was the site of the fourth-deadliest mass shooting in United States history, excluding school shootings.
3. Church Shooting in Sutherland Springs
A day that will stay with many. On November 25, 2017, a 26-year-old man from Sutherland Springs, Texas, named Devin Patrick Kelly, opened fire at a small church.
Tragically, this horrific deed resulted in the loss of twenty lives, one of which was an unborn child. The deadly police chase ended with Kelly’s body being found in his car. By shooting himself, he meant to kill himself.
4. Cirilo Castillo Jr. is wanted for assaulting horses
In 2015, authorities found this man’s wounds after a horse kicked him. It all began when he tried to go on top of the horse.

Furthermore, it was found that the horse was having oral and vaginal sex while restrained in the corral. Many years ago, Castillo had been the subject of a comparable arrest. Animal abuse charges were against him.
5. The Waco Massacre
Because the Branch Davidians were known to have broken federal firearm prohibitions, the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms besieged Mount Carmel. Following a gunfight between the sect and law enforcement, a truce was reached; however, four agents from the ATF and six members of the Branch Davidians perished during the process.
The invasion of the complex by almost 900 police officers finally broke the siege. Only nine Branch Davidians were able to flee the building after 80 people, including several children, were found dead inside.
6. Dean Corll’s Candy Man
What a horrible human being. He was given his moniker from his family’s candy business. The young men he preyed on were lured to his house, where he brutally and sexually assaulted them. It could be days before he would kill his victims by shooting them or strangling them.
To dispose of the bodies, mass graves would be utilized. Last but not least, he had the boys compose letters defending their abduction to thoroughly humiliate the police. His culpability was based on the fact that he had murdered twenty-eight minors.
7. Murder and the Kidnapping of Amber Hagerman
The terrible story was the driving force behind the creation of the Amber Alert System. The abduction of Amber Hagerman took place in 1996 at her home in Arlington, Texas. All she managed to do while riding her bike was go around the block.
After what felt like an endless amount of time, Amber had disappeared. Her remains were unearthed from a creek; her only garment was a single sock, and she bore a slit across her throat. Her killer has escaped.
8. The Texas Eyeball Killer
Amarillo is the birthplace of Charles Albright, better known as the Eyeball Killer. He is presently spending time at Lubbock’s John Montford Unit after being found guilty in 1991. Despite there being just one charge—murder—this story is horrifying all the same.
His victims, all ladies, had their eyes amputated. Albright was a taxidermist and a master knifesman. His passing occurred at the age of 87. You may find a brief overview of the story in the video up there.
Wrong The five children of Andrea Yates are drowned to death. The five children who were drowned by Andrea Yates in 2001 were between the ages of six months and seven years. In Kerrville, Texas, she was confined to a mental institution following her conviction on grounds of insanity.
