Devastating News! Texas Driver Faces DWI Charge After Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-10

Louisiana State Police have accused a Texan man of driving under the influence after a tragic incident on Saturday where a Lake Charles resident lost his life while trying to cross Interstate 10.

The accident resulted in the death of Daniel Courville, a 31-year-old man who was trying to cross I-10 West at approximately 9 p.m. after his car had veered into the median, according to authorities.

According to state police, a vehicle-pedestrian collision took place as Juan Camacho, a 45-year-old Texan, was heading west on I-10 in a 2004 GMC Sierra.

According to authorities, Courville passed away at the crash site. Camacho emerged unscathed from the incident.

According to the State Police, troopers concluded that Camacho was under the influence and subsequently apprehended him for the offense of driving while intoxicated for the first time.

Authorities mentioned that they obtained a regular toxicology sample from both Camacho and Courville to be examined.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
