Those closest to de la Cruz spoke highly of his six years of service and notoriety in the Brownsville warehouse.
Following his purported confession to the shooting, 46-year-old Fullwood allegedly informed detectives that he had been in the company of de la Cruz in the days leading up to the murder.
“The defendant stated that he heard in the streets that the victim was known as a snitch,” according to the report. “After spending two weeks at the victim’s business, the defendant stated that the victim displayed actions which he determined to confirm those rumors.”
Presently, Fullwood is incarcerated pending his trial on a charge of second-degree murder. Returning to court in October, he will be required to enter a not-guilty plea.
