by Miami Beach, FL – Popular YouTuber Jack Doherty, known for his high-energy stunt and prank content, is facing multiple charges after being arrested early Saturday morning in Miami Beach. According to Miami-Dade jail records, the 22-year-old influencer was taken into custody on allegations of possessing a controlled substance, possessing 20 grams or less of cannabis, and resisting an officer without violence.
Arrest Stems From Roadway Incident in South Beach
According to an arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, officers were conducting a high-visibility enforcement operation along the 700 block of Washington Avenue when they spotted a group of individuals walking into the roadway. Among them was Doherty, who police say was standing in the middle of the street recording video content.
The report stated that Doherty’s presence in the roadway created a significant safety hazard. Officers ordered him to move several times, but he refused.
The arrest report notes Doherty replied, “Once I’m done with this bet,” when warned he would be detained if he continued ignoring commands.
Officers eventually removed him from the roadway. However, police say he continued resisting instructions, leading to his arrest.
Drugs Allegedly Found During Search
During a post-arrest search, officers reportedly found half an oval-shaped pill marked with “3,” consistent with amphetamine, inside Doherty’s pocket. They also discovered three hand-rolled cannabis cigarettes stored in a black plastic container.
Body camera footage released by Miami Beach Police showed officers placing Doherty in handcuffs and escorting him to a patrol vehicle.
Doherty Responds After Posting Bond
Doherty bonded out of jail Saturday evening and immediately went on camera to share his reaction with NBC6. He described the experience as miserable, telling reporters:
“That was the worst 24-hours ever. I wish I did something crazier to make it worth it.”
He disputed the circumstances of the arrest, claiming the issue began simply because he took too long crossing the street.
“I think it was a little excessive… There was no traffic, it was three in the morning. I think they just wanted to lock me up, but fair enough, learned my lesson.”
Despite posting additional videos on social media after his release, Doherty admitted he regretted how the situation unfolded, saying he would have handled the encounter differently.

Previous Incidents Involving the Influencer
Doherty is well-known in South Florida due to multiple high-profile incidents over the last year. In June 2024, Davie Police responded to a swatting call at his Southwest Ranches home. Officers later determined the call was fake after observing that Doherty was actively livestreaming on Kick.com at the time and appeared safe.
Just a few months later, in October, he made headlines again after crashing his $200,000 McLaren on the Florida Turnpike. Doherty was livestreaming while driving in the rain and appeared to glance at his phone moments before the sports car hydroplaned into a guardrail. The crash, also streamed on Kick, ultimately led to his channel being banned from the platform.
Doherty’s Social Media Career Continues Despite Controversies
With nearly 15 million subscribers, Jack Doherty has built a massive following through controversial prank videos, high-value giveaways, and displays of wealth. His brand frequently involves risky stunts, livestreams, and collaborations with other large creators. Despite repeated controversies, his audience remains highly engaged across platforms.
Doherty has already paid bond for his latest charges, though additional court proceedings are expected in the coming weeks.
