The man was accused of breaking into an Ohio pet store while wearing hamsters, according to new body camera footage showing police officers arresting him.
The 31-year-old Matthew Pancake is currently in Franklin County Jail on accusations of damage and breaking and entering. On Tuesday, he is accused of breaking into three different businesses in Columbus, including a pet store, according to News Center 7.
According to our news partner WBNS in Columbus, officers were alerted at 3 a.m. to a burglar alarm going off at a Roosters restaurant. Surveillance video revealed an individual with long hair and a leopard-print onesie inside the establishment.
“It appears as though they hurled a stone through both entrance doors,” the officer remarked.
According to WBNS, police also found some animals roaming freely in the parking area and a broken-in Petland store.
The video showed the cop apprehending two puppies in quick succession. There was no need to worry, he assured her. “Come on, come on, you’re alright.”

In the back of a cruiser, the officer found the other dog and brought it back together.
On a bench, Pancake was discovered napping by the officers. A man seized him and informed him that he was being detained.
Upon searching him, they discovered bedding and four hamsters in his pants.
An officer noticed that he had many gerbils in his pants. “What about the rest of your gerbils?”
They returned to the store with the hamsters in a bag.
