Holladay Distillery, Missouri’s oldest and most historic bourbon producer, is making headlines with a major expansion. The Weston-based distillery has officially started construction on its first new Brickhouse in 75 years, a move that highlights its commitment to growth and innovation in the bourbon industry.
New Rickhouse Signals Growth
The new facility, known as Rickhouse D, will be the fourth ironclad Brickhouse at Holladay Distillery. Construction of Rickhouse D is expected to take between eight to nine months, with St. Joseph-based Al J. Mueller Construction Company leading the project. Once completed, the Brickhouse will accommodate 11,000 barrels, similar to the storage capacities of Holladay’s existing facilities, which range between 10,000 and 12,000 barrels.

The distillery uses its original 1856 mash bill, ensuring authenticity and tradition in its whiskey-making process. This dedication to heritage led to the launch of Ben Holladay Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon in 2022, followed by the release of Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon in 2023, a unique offering developed from a wheat-based recipe introduced in 2016.
