VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – South Fry Street in Valdosta will be closed to traffic on Thursday, January 16, for important roadwork.
The city has announced that the closure will take place from HWY 221 N to M.L.K Drive, where a manhole will be replaced.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of South Fry Street will be blocked off during this time.
Drivers are asked to follow the detour, which will redirect traffic onto S Forrest Street and bring vehicles to M.L.K Drive.
City officials have advised residents and drivers to follow the posted traffic signs and directions to avoid any delays.
The Utilities Department is working hard to complete the repairs as quickly as possible.
