Los Angeles authorities are seeking three suspects after a man was shot and murdered aboard a Metro train on Friday night.
According to representatives of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Friday, Juan Garcia, 38, got into a fight with some guys at the Metro E Line stop at La Cienega and Jefferson Boulevards. As a result, Garcia was shot in the head and later died.
Garcia was declared dead at the spot, according to the police.
All three suspects, who were male and between the ages of 15 and 20, fled before police could arrive, according to the authorities, who spoke with FOX 11.

As per the Garcia family’s GoFundMe, Juan, also known as “Tony,” was the eldest of seven siblings and a father of four.
“We share the news of our beloved Tony’s demise with great sadness. Tony departed from us on June 21, 2024. Growing up, my big brother was our guardian. powerful like an ox. We believed him to be unbeatable. The family added, “We are reaching out to our community for support as we navigate this difficult time to give Tony G. the dignified and heartfelt farewell He deserves.”
Investigations are ongoing to determine the shooting’s motivation.

This is the seventh attack on LA Metro property between April 22 and May 21, according to a recent report from FOX 11.

Mayor of Los Angeles and Chair of the Metro Board Karen Bass had demanded back in May an urgent influx of law enforcement officers throughout the whole transportation network.

Last month, the Metro Board overwhelmingly approved a plan to increase public safety by staffing the metro system with 260 additional cops on duty every day.
“There were almost a million-weekday riders in March, but if we can’t guarantee the safety of those who want and need to use the bus and rail system, the recent crime threatens to derail this progress,” Bass had previously told KNBC. “We must act to safeguard that advancement by ensuring the safety of riders.”
