Christmas Turned to Tragedy for NYC Family as Mom Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident!

A mother in Queens, NYC, tragically lost her life on Christmas Eve after being struck by two separate cars in a hit-and-run accident.

The incident occurred just steps from her home in Jamaica, Queens, leaving her family heartbroken.

Antonina Freycinet, 45, a mother of three, was crossing 111th Avenue near 158th Street when a car heading west hit her around 9:30 p.m.

The car didn’t stop, leaving Freycinet lying in the street. Moments later, a second vehicle, a Ford Expedition, struck her again, police confirmed.

Her son, 20-year-old Andrew Dasrath, heard the crash and rushed outside. He was devastated to find that his mother was the victim.

“I was just holding her, trying to make sure she didn’t move too much,” Dasrath said. “I told her, ‘Breathe, mom, breathe!’ as she was bleeding badly.”

Dasrath, not realizing his mother was the one hurt until it was too late, fought to help her, trying to prevent her from choking on her blood.

Despite his efforts, Freycinet was declared dead after being rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

The hit-and-run happened at the end of a quiet family Christmas celebration. Freycinet had gone to the store to buy drinks for the family, including her son, his 18-year-old brother, 7-year-old sister, and their grandmother.

Dasrath described his mother as a kind, loving person from Haiti who always did the right thing.

The driver who caused the first collision has not been identified, and no details are known about the car or the driver.

However, the driver of the Ford Expedition, a 64-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not charged. It’s believed that he didn’t realize he had hit Freycinet as she lay in the street.

Dasrath expressed his frustration, saying, “If I could see that driver, I would tell them they should have stopped. You should have been more careful.”

The family is left grieving, hoping for justice for Freycinet, a woman who was taken from them far too soon.
