Columbus, Ohio —
The 18-year-old lady who was shot and killed early on Saturday morning in an apartment building close to Dublin was named by the Columbus Division of Police.
At around 12:25 a.m., police were summoned to the Karric Place apartments in the 6000 block of Sweeney Lane, which is located just east of the Mall at Tuttle Crossing. There had reportedly been a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a woman—later identified as Kiara Nelson—who appeared to have been shot.
Initial reports stated that there was a dispute between two individuals within one of the units. Nelson, according to the police, tried to step in and was shot.
Nelson was transported in critical condition to Riverside Methodist Hospital. Not quite two in the morning, she was declared dead.
Police said the culprit fled the scene and is currently at large. Regarding the suspect, no details were disclosed.
When she found out what had happened, Annie Saksa, who lives across the street from the gunshot scene, was upset.

All I want is for there to be less hate and more love in the world. Saksa remarked, “It is unfortunate that regular people are virtually accustomed to it anymore.
She had lived on Columbus’ east side before relocating to the neighborhood.
“We made a lot of effort to go to this side of town to feel safer, but because it was so normal there, I felt like I was only there for a short while. It was ridiculous, she added, because every night when you heard them, you would run outside to the front porch because you had no idea where they were coming from.
Saksa claimed she has never experienced problems at the apartment building.
Except for a few reported thefts of cars, 10TV’s Crimetracker 10 map indicates very little crime in the neighborhood over the previous 12 months.
