An enormous retailer has announced the closure of 75 stores in the Golden State, following a nationwide 20 percent sale and other store closures.

With the bulk of stores shuttered in California, Big Lots has announced yet another round of store closures.

In California alone, 75 of the 109 locations set to close soon will be located in the Golden State.

In the past several months, Big Lots has shut down its massive 30,300-square-foot store in the US.

The CEO, Bruce Thorn, has blamed the slumping economy for Big Lots’ recent quarterly struggles, claiming that customers have become weary and profits have taken a hit.

The persistent decline in consumer spending by our core clients, especially in high-ticket discretionary items, was the main reason we missed our sales goals in Q1, even though we made great progress on strengthening our business operations, according to Thorn.
